The Ice Abstract Story
This body of work began with a photograph of air bubbles trapped in a small frozen stream. The print resembled an abstract charcoal or graphite line drawing. A series of photographs grew upon realizing the potential for abstracts created in this type of natural setting, culminating in the Ice Abstracts Portfolio.
I chose not to title these prints in order to allow the viewers to envision their own personal interpretation of each abstract.
These images were taken during the winter of 2003 in the Indiana Duneland area along the southern shore of Lake Michigan.
The “Ice Abstract Portfolio” consists of the ten prints shown in the collection. The photographs are mounted on museum rag board, signed, numbered, and placed in a handsome clamshell case covered with gray book cloth. The prints are approximately 10-1/2" x 13-1/2" on 16" x 20" mounts. Each print is individually layered in the case with acid free Apollo paper and the set is accompanied by a text sheet describing the photographs. The cost for this portfolio is $1,250.00 which in essence reduces the price of each print to $125.00. Brochures are available upon request.
